Background

Like the rest of the world, the Republic of Palau had to adjust to the sudden and quickly developing and largely unknown danger of the new corona virus. The ministry, as part of the government's coordinated response, closed schools, adjust student activities to try to preserve a full school year, and began making plans for possible worse case scenarios of lockdown and loss of instructional time for students.

The danger is not over so the ministry is making plans for introducing remote learning and other educational strategies which would help preserve the expected level of educational service for students in an environment of social distancing and lockdown should that unfortunate scenario materialize.
